PTA Chair & Committee Descriptions
The 2008/2009 Executive Board is currently looking to fill several PTA Committee Chair positions. Some of these Chair positions are brand new, providing our members with an opportunity for diversified volunteer involvement! still need to be filled for the 2008-09 school year.
Short-Term Positions
Fall Fundraiser Chair ● Work with a committee to promote and execute fall fundraiser with company representative.
Fitness For Fun Night Chair & Committee ● Organize our annual health and fitness event scheduled for late September.
Spooktacular Committee ● On October 24, 2009, the Chloe Clark PTA and the Northwest Landing ROA will host DuPont's annual Spooktacular event at the school. This is a fun family event for all ages.
Bingo Night Chair & Committee ● Plan a night of Bingo fun for Chloe students and families in mid-January.
Spring Fundraiser Chair ● Work with a committee to promote and execute spring fundraiser.
Bike Rodeo Chair & Committee ● Organize our third annual spring bicycle safety event with carnival games for students and families.
Long-Term Positions
Assemblies Chair ● Work with the school principal to plan and organize assemblies throughout the school year.
Awards Chair & Committee ● Create a binder or scrapbook of PTA programs throughout the year. In the early spring, submit our local unit for Washington State PTA-sponsored awards and grants.
Box Tops Chair ● Develop a plan to encourage families to turn in Box Tops for Education, and run a quarterly Box Tops Store at lunch time.
Bulletin Board Chair ● Design and create PTA bulletin boards in Chloe Clark's hallways.
Chloe Creations Chair & Committee ● Are you interested in helping our students explore their creative side? Chloe Creations promotes visual art and encourages participation in the national PTA Reflections program. No artistic ability is needed to be a part of this team, just a willingness to help.
Explorer Track Club Chair & Committee ● Recruit and manage classroom volunteers, maintain statistics, manage and order supplies, and present awards to students.
Leaf Your Mark Chair ● Promote sale of leaves and fence posts to fund school enhancement grants, and paint ceramic leaves to attach to the tree mural in the school's entrance hallway.
Legislative Chair ● Develop an effective advocacy team to clearly communicate the PTA’s perspective on legislation and related issues to elected officials.
Membership Chair ● Plan a membership campaign, collect and process fees, enroll members online, and send fees and forms to the Washington State PTA office.
Newsletter Chair & Committee ●The primary way the Chloe Clark PTA communicates with our members is through The Explorer Compass, our monthly newsletter sent out to the entire school. The Newsletter Chair is responsible for creating The Explorer Compass, soliciting and encouraging PTA Committee Chairs to submit news articles and photos, managing newsletter adversiting, and working with volunteers to copy the newsletter.
Popcorn Chair & Committee ● Most Fridays during the year, the Popcorn Committee gets together and pops corn to help raise money for PTA activities. This is one hot committee—won’t you join us to make the’08-’09 school year “pop”?! Popcorn is sold to students for $0.25 on most Fridays and 100% of the proceeds go directly to our PTA. This is a FUN committee and a great way to meet other Chloe parents. Please come out and help with this easy and rewarding job that always puts a smile on the faces of our Chloe Clark students. With your help we can continue to make every “Popcorn Friday” a success.
Public Relations Chair ● Design flyers and posters for PTA events, and help promote the Chloe Clark PTA.
Reader Board Chair ● Work with school principal and PTA president to maintain text on reader board throughout the year.
Staff Appreciation Chair & Committee ● We think the staff here at Chloe Clark are the best in the business. The PTA’s Staff Appreciation Committee is here to make sure they know how we feel! The Staff Appreciation Committee provides monthly goodies throughout the year, as well as during our annual Staff Appreciation Week held every spring.
T.E.A.M. PTA Chair ● Together Everyone Achieves More! A brand new program being implemented at Chloe Clark. This Chair position will serve as the liaison between appointed T.E.A.M. PTA members, Chloe Clark staff, and the PTA Board of Directors. The T.E.A.M. PTA Chair works with the PTA and school staff to engage in regular and meaningful communication about student learning.
Web Site Chair ● Regularly update the Chloe Clark PTA's web site to enhance communication with our members and local community.
Volunteer Chair & Committee ● Maintain volunteer database, provide support to committee Chairs in volunteer recruitment efforts, and work with a committee to honor and recognize volunteers.
Yearbook Chair & Committee ● Our yearbook just keeps getting better every year! If you love to attend Chloe Clark events and school activities, why not sign up to take photos of them for the yearbook? Then help people cherish the memories for a lifetime by promoting yearbook sales!
